Governor Newsom announced Friday, April 24 the launch of a first-in-the-nation “Great Plates Delivered: Home Meals for Seniors” partnership with counties, cities, and Tribes.
This program has two purposes:

The state is collecting the restaurant and food provider information and passing details to the local administrator in your area. Great Plates Delivered is a locally managed program, the local administrator will be the entity who will reach out to you regarding next steps.
This program has two purposes:
- Help older adults (65 years or older) and other adults (60-64 years) at high risk from COVID-19 to stay home and stay healthy by delivering three nutritious meals a day, and
- Provide essential economic stimulus to local businesses and workers struggling to stay afloat during the COVID crisis.
Food provider meals must meet the following nutritional requirements:
- Breakfast: low in sodium, no sugary drinks (<24 grams /8 oz. and of fruit juice, must be only 100 percent fruit juice allowed); and
- Lunch and dinner: a piece of fresh fruit or vegetable on each dish, and low in sodium, no sugary drinks (<24 grams /8 oz. and of fruit juice, must be only 100 percent fruit juice allowed).
